Thank you for posting this, Larry. I never really understood how fees work until coming to your website. I need to get my kids’ RESP out of RBC ASAP! ????
You are welcome Kathryn! If you are comfortable doing so, you may want to consider switching to a discount brokerage account. Online discount brokers (including RBC Direct Investing!) offer much lower cost investment products.
I have a RRIF ( presently worth about &40,00) with TD for 13 years and am primarily invested in TD Mutual Funds and about 20% in
Bell stock! MER’s range from .80% for the Index fund to 1.95% for balanced fund, 1.00% bond, 1.25% monthly.
In 2017, total charges were $152.24 Trailing commissions from other parties were $814.85.
To reduce these charges, how should re-allocate my investments? Soon to be 85 yrs old.
Thank you,
