Invest Right

This site, sponsored by British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) is also comprehensive and has strong focus on fees. See their series of short videos on investment fees…and keep your eyes open!

And take their investment fee quiz. I only  got 6 out of 7 investment fee quiz questions correct. What did I miss? According to InvestRight, I answered Question 5 incorrectly…but I disagree! You be the judge.

Here are some of the other provincial websites:

Autorité des marchés financiers (Québec)

Alberta Securities Commission

The Little Book of Common Sense Investing by John C. Bogle, 2007

Jack Bogle, founder of Vanguard Funds, created the world’s first low cost index fund. This is a fantastic little book that focuses on the merits of simplicity, long term compounding, keeping costs low and utilizing index funds. Low cost index funds are not the sole solution for every investor but they may be part of the solution for many.

Many newspapers and bloggers regularly feature useful content for investors.

Check out this recent Globe and Mail article highlighting several excellent investing books.
